Wire ropes work in cable cars and a various number of other industrial applications. In general the right viscosity is the key to allow a good penetration but also to avoid the centrifugation of the lubricant. Type, speed, load characteristics, environmental conditions, system design, lubricant application and maintenance requirements have to be considered to select the right lubricant.
