Compressors compress gases like air, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbondioxide, other gases worked with in chemical plants or refrigerants. Compressor type and design put individual stress on the compressor oil: different compression ratios, temperatures and by design, whether the compresses gas has access to the oil or not. This way, the selection of the oil becomes more complex than in other fields. Oxidative and thermal stress, chemical reactions with the gas or gas contaminants, oil thinning by the gas are only examples of the different oil aging scenario in various compressors.

It contains the following videos:

  • Compressors: Types and common lubrication requirements
    Video length: 06:38 Minutes
Target: Get to know and to understand different oil aging processes in air, gas and refrigerant compressors, considering the type and design of the compressor.

  • Compressor oil: Selection by type
    Video length: 17:32 Minutes
Target: Get to know and to understand different oil aging processes in air, gas and refrigerant compressors, considering the type and design of the compressor.

In addition to the videos, you can download the used presentations as PDF files.
